Shepard kept his position at the edge of his desk, shaking his head as she mocked him. Even when Paul was sincere about his sentiments, Jack always labeled it as bullshit, but that was just how Jack was. She was strong-willed and highly independent, and she made sure to let everyone know that they could be a fly splattered on the windshield of her ship if she so wanted.
She was right about one thing, though. Paul was fiercely attached to his crew. He particularly chose his members, knowing he could lay his life in their hands at any moment and they would always have his back. It was a comforting thought, and also a scary one if one were to ever perish. He wasn’t sure what he would do with himself if they did, especially Jack.
“I wasn’t being snide, Jack. I’ll… I’ll actually miss you.” He nodded with a side-smile to her before lifting off of his desk to sit back into his chair, taking hold of a large packet of paperwork in his hands, fingers at the corner in preparation to flip it.
“Oh you’re going to make me blush Shepard.”
A pout formed on her full dark lips as she teased him, running her nails over the side of her throat and over her jaw before nipping at the tip with a grin.
"Tell a Batarian that and they’d end you, I’ve grown very attached to their customs but…It’s you, so I’ll let the whole miss you thing slide Shep.“
When he moved, she wasn’t sure if he was finished talking or he was preoccupied with something as they spoke. Either way this surprised Jack and caused her to straighten up on his wrap around sofa and grunt in frustration.
"Did you just, turn your back on me?”
