“I believe my presence here answers your first question.”
Liara smiles a little, hoping Jack recognizes her joke. Liara was certain that she often came off as cheeky more often than funny, so she had been learning appropriate body language to accompany her words.
She hadn’t ever remembered Jack being particularly chatty, but currently the ex-convict was talking more than Liara had ever expected. She found herself doing a lot of nodding and other non-verbal cues until another question was posed. A question that nearly caused the Shadow Broker to spit out the sip of her drink she had just gulped down.
“Er- the Commander and I very close, yes. Though I’m not sure if Shepard would want me to confirm the question you’re asking specifically.”
"Hey, you could of party crashed. Ever heard of that term?”
Of course Jack let the joke go right over her head, giving Liara a blank stare. Maybe it was the alcohol that made Jack less focused than normal. Once Liara answered her question Jack turned up into a grin, elbowing Liara playfully and looking over her Asari physical features, bright blue skin and head shape. “Very close doesn’t give me much information. I’m talking about whether or not you two are a thing, as in, a thing.” This wasn’t any of Jack’s business, but she was honest like usual and thought this was a way of getting close to people.
