The more she learned about Jack, the eerily similar their stories became. Little details lined up, their titles, now their family, until Gamora was left wondering if this were some universal glitch. Were they experiencing pocket dimensions again? She hoped not. Running around pushing other wordly critters back through their escape route had been such a hassle the last time.
“What happened to them?”
Jack went to speak, finding herself caught within her words the more she thought about the deaths of her sisters. This was the first time in a while she had opened up her past to someone, Gamora seemed to understand Jack–in a way that was unspoken.
“One of them betrayed us all, a pirate ship stationed near ours and basically tore the girls apart. I managed to get out but the rest didn’t stand a chance. I vowed to find my sister who betrayed us, but…”
Her words falling, tumbling into nothing. Jack couldn’t see herself killing someone who she took an oath with.
